One of my friends, a mama entrepreneur, put together a project with Birchbox, one of my go-to’s for beauty, that I just have to share with you, too!
You’ve probably seen my IG stories with the beauty regimen quiz (if you haven’t - take it here! it’s SO fun!) and the advent calendar. That calendar is one of my favorite holiday treats for myself, as I am a total “beauty product junkie”! I can spend hours and hours at the beauty counters of any department store!
Originally I wanted to wait until the 12 days of Christmas to peek into what treats were hiding in each of the compartments of the Birchbox Advent Calendar, but when Vasilisa asked to peek in, I broke down. Curiosity got the better of me. I am justifying this by telling myself that I may want to get something full-size before the Christmas craziness hits, so trying the samples is essential, right?!
Typical Birchbox service though, if you are not familiar with it, is a little different, but still has a similar approach. I usually get 5 products to try that are personalized to my skin type, hair type, etc (there is a quiz you take to ensure your needs are covered). I love that Birchbox works it all out for me, I don’t have to do anything, really, except trying new things. The more days go by, the more I am praising the inventors of all these “boxed” services because with work/family/and lots of fun things planned in life, I honestly have less and less desire to spend the time elsewhere but with kids, doing things we all love. Time has extra value because I am seeing first-hand how incredibly fast it passes. This year has been one of the most productive in taking advantage of all “to your door” services.
With Birchbox, you can also purchase what you try in full size, which saved me a lot of money in the long run. Some things I thought I’d love, didn’t work out for me, but then I discovered other products that I would never pick myself that turned out to be the best find ever! At Birthbox they carry some of my favorite brands like Origins, Herbivore, Benefit, Oribe, Milk, and much more. I really like, though, just the plain sample sized products. They have been little lifesavers for all my beauty needs during travel because I typically just bring my carry-on.
Do any of you use Birchbox? What would you recommend trying?
PS: What is your personality type from the quiz?! I am an ABSOLUTE A! Anyone else?!
PPS: Anyone tried “tube” mascaras?! I am obsessed! I got Eyeko one in my BIrchbox and a Milk one in the BIrchbox Advent Calendar, and they BOTH are rocking! Best discovery up to date. Lashes for days!
