Beauty Talk: Hair

A good hair day is always a good idea. I mentioned before that seasons have a serious effect on how my hair looks and behaves, and winter is particularly tricky because the air is naturally drier. We partnered up with Dove Hair to find some effective, yet affordable options that would deliver results many are looking for: manageable, healthy, moisturized hair, flake-free and soothed the scalp and something that could be used daily, if needed.

I recently tried Dove Hair's new DermaCare Scalp Series and so far I am very happy with the results. I’ve tried a variety of options - DermaCare Scalp Pure Daily Care 2in1 Shampoo and Conditioner, DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner and DermaCare Scalp Invigorating Mint 2in1 Shampoo and Conditioner. Let me tell you a little bit about each one.

Let’s start with DermaCare Scalp Invigorating Mint 2in1 Shampoo and Conditioner. The name speaks for itself. A fresh minty scent and tingling sensation felt nice and soothing on the scalp. The formula is infused with spearmint so it keeps the scalp refreshed and left my hair smooth. My hair felt extra light even on the next day.

The DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Shampoo and Conditioner was a perfect combination for my thirsty hair. I am sensitive to smells, but I liked the coconut and shea butter scent as well as the softness and moisture it delivered. My hair was bouncy, shiny and extremely soft even two days after the wash. I am sincerely impressed with such a performance from such an affordable line.

While on the testing/ experimenting spree, I dared to do what I never do - use a shampoo & conditioner in one. I had such a poor experience from before that I steered clear from those for years. Whether it is the PH balanced formula or Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice and oils in the ingredients, I could practically tell no difference from using the DermaCare Scalp Pure Daily Care 2in1 option vs shampoo and conditioner separately. Just from my own pure psychological glitch, for daily at home use, I personally still like the option of two separate products. That being said, for travel and trips, this little find is on the top of the list. It looks like I am not the only one. I checked my bathroom shelf a few days after trying DermaCare Scalp Pure Daily Care 2in1 and noticed that this very bottle migrated to a different shower shelf: looks like Justin is a fan too. He has also been battling a flaky scalp for years and he seems to be very happy with this new discovery.

To sum it up - from my experience, if you are looking for an affordable option to target a specific problem but maintain the hair’s luster and integrity, Dove Hair has created some very good solutions. For my extra thirsty hair, the DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner worked like magic. For those who want to travel with less hustle - DermaCare Scalp Pure Daily Care 2in1 is a great option, and for those that have normal hair but an extra sensitive scalp, DermaCare Scalp Invigorating Mint 2in1 & Shampoo may be the best of the choices.
