7 Great things to experience in San Francisco

For this week’s 7 Series, we move closer to home for us and feature a few of our favorites right here in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Hot Eats

Italian cooking has always been about sharing wonderful food with those we enjoy being with, and enjoying food that has been made with love. A Mano certainly embodies this tradition with its feature of using special hand-made pastas in its offerings. Be sure to check them out while in San Francisco.

For a taste of excellent French Bistro cuisine, look no further than Le Marais. Here you can find everything from uniquely crafted french pastries to flavorful dishes for breakfast and lunch. Currently offering two locations, one in the Marina, and the second at Ghirardelli Square, you are sure to find a great experience Le Marais.

Hot Stays

For those looking for a truly luxurious stay and experience while in San Francisco, one of the iconic places to stay still remains at the Fairmont Hotel. Its history and design make it the prime location to stay while in the area. Its especially fun to stay during the Holidays as they craft a massive Gingerbread House for guests to experience each year.

For a test of modern luxury and design at a fair price, a hotel worth checking out is the Lowes Regency Hotel. Located centrally in San Francisco’s Financial District you are right in the middle of the action and locations to experience some of the best of the city without needing to go out of your way.

Hot Events

Are you a fitness pro, or an aspiring to be one? Or do you just love being surrounded by the excitement? This weekend hosts the annual Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon. Each year contestants challenge themselves with the difficult swim across the bay, a 18-mile bike ride, and finally an 8-mile run over and through the challenging hills of San Francisco. If participating in the event isn’t quite your style, no worries, there will be a large fitness festival taking place at the finish line for all to participate in.

For those that remember or love the 60’s for its iconic Summer of Love, this weekend hosts the Haight-Asbury Street fair with everything related to this iconic moment in history. Go see the exhibit at the DeYoung Museum in Golden Gate Park and come experience the festival this Sunday.

Hot Spots For Kids

Sometimes it is great to be able to take the kids to a really nice place to experience and play. San Francisco's Golden Gate Park is home to several great playgrounds, but one definitely sticks out as a place to come, and that is the Children's Quarter Playground. With a fully operating Carousel and more, this is an area that all the kids will enjoy while you take a break from sight seeing.

San Francisco has always had a special place for us, and here's to great weekend and week to come.
