Creating the Perfect Hygge

My bedroom is my sanctuary. My life is so busy, and with little ones being so energetic, I really need a corner just for me where I can create my own perfect hygge setting to unwind and recharge. Hygge (pronounced hoo-gah) is the Danish concept of coziness and warmth, which is perfect for sanctuary of my bedroom. The kids know not to disturb and I really wanted to create a corner that I could turn to that would be absolutely mine, a place that I could think, create and simply rest.
I learned the hard way while living in San Francisco that light is absolutely essential for my well being and my mood. Even though LA is one of the sunniest places on earth, we found that not all apartments are as brightly lit as we wanted them to be, plus we really wanted to focus on creating a green home as much as possible. We teamed up with our friends at Sengled to place an Element bulb in almost every lamp in our apartment. They are the perfect addition to our smart home. I can control the light through the app on my phone at any time (you’ve probably seen the stories already). The lights that we have in the bedroom are one of the Sengled 2700k Element Bulbs. I love it, especially around 6 O’Clock in the afternoon, the time when the sun has not set yet, but it is already not as bright. I turn on the light, adjust the brightness, and it is so relaxing to watch the sunset. Here are some other features that I thought were really cool:
Full App Control: you have full control over the entire system from the convenience of your phone.
Voice Control: With the app engaged you can set up voice commands to control the lighting as you wish.
Dimming Control: Each Element Bulb has full dimming control to adjust the brightness just the way you like.
Temperature control: This is one of my favorite features to use as it lets you decide how warm or cool to make the light. This is especially great for setting a relaxing mood in the evening, or if I want to do some work I can make it cooler to bring out the colors I’m working with.
Scheduling: In the App you can set up you own schedules to execute different settings as you like. For some peace of mind, It is also nice to have lights come on and off while you are out of the house to give the impression that someone is home.
Sustainability: While not a specific feature, I love that Sengled is committed to making all their products environmentally sustainable, which really is admirable.
Do any of you guys use the Element Smart Lighting System? Do you like to create a cozy hygge environment in your place? I highly recommend!
